Branding Farmers do it to their cattle Businesses do it to show potential customers their niche In this week s edition of Around Town Brad Feldman shows us how a Mandan business is branding itself to attract major national clients Sound - machine moving to new spot and starting to cut Mark Helbling L amp amp H Manufacturing We ve been in the branding iron business since 1954 L amp amp H Manufacturing knows branding irons Helbling says the company invented the electric cattle branding iron However it s this new machine that is putting L amp amp H a cut above the rest Mark Helbling L amp amp H Manufacturing Basically whatever you can draw on a computer it can cut Water and a granite material from India are used to cut through the steel Sound - machine stops cutting In this project the steel is three-quarters of an inch thick Sound- spraying of the water Once the process is done these are the kinds of items they produce Individual branding irons that can sit on your desk or be used at a barbeque But it was an order last year that had Helbling and his crew doing some investigative work Mark Helbling L amp amp H Manufacturing What they were looking for was a product a branding iron a little branding iron they could use for barbeques that they could give to the actors with the logo of the shows they were on Like working a crime scene investigation it took Helbling time to gather all the evidence before coming to a conclusion who wanted his product Mark Helbling L amp amp H Manufacturing They were secretive about it at the beginning but we finally got around to getting it out of them and it was the tv show CSI In the end L amp amp H Manufacturing made 300 of these small branding irons for all of the people associated with the hit TV Series CSI Taking you Around Town I m Brad Feldman L amp amp H Manufacturing has also done some work for Kentucky Fried Chicken Adidas General Motors Mercedes Benz and many more national companies
