An onion processing plant near Dawson is doing big business with pot roast Kidco Farms is processing a mix of red potatoes carrots onions and celery that s vacuum-packed and shipped to Iowa A roast is added and the mix is shipped to stores Kidco Farms co-owner Van Amundson says it s distributed nationally He says the plant will ship about 100 000 pounds each week Last year the company had 15 workers during its onion harvest Now with the new vegetable pack it has 48 people working Amundson says it s been a real help to the area and provides a market for farm crops as well
