Farm Rescue Growing Quickly

In the past two years Farm Rescue has helped thirty farmers who ve been kept out of their fields by illness or injury to either plant or harvest their crops The non-profit organization has exceeded founder Bill Gross s expectations He came up with the idea in 2005 In 2006 Farm Rescue helped ten farm families with spring planting It expanded this year to help farmers with harvest - and before the year ends 20 farmers will have Farm Rescue s help Bill Gross Farm Rescue I ve seen neighbors and all around the community of farmers being injured and neighbors coming to help Now days there s just fewer farms and fewer children on those farms and it s harder for neighbors to help one another So I thought there should a formal organization to help family farmers Gross says most farmers are too proud to ask for help He says about half of their cases are refered from people who say their neighbors could use Farm Rescue For more information go to www farmrescue org
