Minot Student Wins National FFA Award

It was quite a weekend for Minot s Mitchell Becker Becker is a senior at Minot High and a member of FFA that took him to Indianapolis last week for the 80th National Convention He was there as a finalist for the Agriculture education Proficiency Award but he was more than a finalist Michell Becker from North Dakota he was the national champion After being named one of the top four in the country Mitchell s name was called out as the winner He won for his work he s done helping teach young kids about agriculture Mitchell Becker - National FFA Champion My program was in ag education and basically I helped elementary schools teach kids about agriculture helped the advisors gain new students for our ag ed program and helped coach teams and motivate others to succeed later on in life Becker says he plans on attending North Dakota State University and hopes to keep ag education at the forefront of his life he plans on being an agriculture teacher Becker earned one thousand dollars for winning the award
