Ward County Board Discusses Bridge Opens East of Minot

Where should a new bridge be constructed on Minot s east edge That s what Ward County Board Members and people from the community were debating tonight at the County Court House At issue is where should a bridge be built to get better access to Minot s Agriculture Park and Port of North Dakota Three locations are being looked at 55th Street near Minot Milling 27th Street near the fairgrounds and 42nd Street where there is currently no railroad crossing With the cost estimates released tonight at seven-point-eight million dollars and future traffic flows taken into consideration most are in favor of the 55th Street Bridge When you go back to 27th street you have everything wrong Everything s bought out there s businesses to relocate you have tremendous bottleneck on 27th Now if we move it out to 55th before all of the infrastructure is in place get the bypass in there and I know it s expensive but I think the people of Minot and Ward County are willing to buckle down and pay for that But for right now and to be able to function in this area we have to have grade separation out there and we have to have it very quickly Cam 2 With the plan moving forward County Board Members agreed that the next big step would be deciding on how the project would be paid for
