Spring brings new babies Tonight Ag Reporter Sarah Gustin gives you a sneak peak at what you can expect to see this zoo season The sweet sound of spring The season brings new babies for a new visitor season Terry Lincoln Zoo Director It s amazing Right here these goats are probably one of the biggest favorites Because if you watch a baby goat it is like they have springs in their legs and that is from the first day it is like they can t walk in a straight line They have to bounce and jump and kick I think they are certainly one of the favorites Lincoln says zoo favorites vary from week to week and season to season 5 baby goats 1 mexican wolf and a trumpetor swan are all new to the zoo As well as this mother daughter team Terry Lincoln Zoo Director One of the zoo s newest additions just arrived last Friday There two American Cream Draft Horses will be ready for Display come May Terry Lincoln Zoo Director It s the only draft breed to develop in the United States It kinda has a neat story and they are really beautiful horses As you look at them you can imagine this looks kinda like a unicorn They actually use American Creams in movies for the unicorn becaues they have curly hair and beautiful white color But it doesn t always take a new face to draw a crowd The biggest attraction are the biggest kids at heart Terry Lincoln Zoo Director Of course the tigers They continue to be a crowd pleaser They continue to grow The male is close to 400 pounds now and he still has a couple hundred pounds to go It has been fun for people to come and watch those guys grow Really they are probably one of the most playful animals that we have at the zoo as far as interacting with visitors through the glass of course In Bismarck for KX News I am Sarah Gustin Starting April 24th the zoo will be open 7 days a week from 10 to 7 weather permitting For complete list of all the activities and events happening throughout the summer log on to dakota zoo dot org
